DIY Pull-up bar and Play Gym

DIY Pull-up bar and Play Gym

After searching pintrest for different ideas to help my little guy learn to pull himself up we came across several DIY pull up bars. (of course, what diy project isn’t on pintrest?)
After tweaking a few different ideas and a couple trips to Home Depot, we had just what we needed to create our own!

PVC PIPING –  3’4″ pieces

2 -24″

 4- 12″

2 – 14“

4 – 7″

** these may be different for you, based on your child’s height!

4 end caps

4 T joints

4 elbow joints

SAND, BEANS, OR PEBBLES – you will need to weigh down the bottom pieces.

Glue – to seal your pieces and avoid leakage of your weight choice. They sell glue specifically for pvc pipping but hot glue also works!

Duct tape- to create a grip on the hand bars.

And what is even better than a homemade pull up bar, you ask?! A play gym for smaller babes!

** if you plan to use this as a play gym I recommend using pool noodles on the bottom to protect those cute baby noggins when they roll!
